To create Dune, Atelier Nuanda turned to one of the world's most important textile craftsmen, Arazzeria Scassa, creating a unique piece of work exclusively for the Lake Como Design Festival 2022. Today, as in the past, skilful master weavers produce each Scassa tapestry using 17th Century looms.
Thus a collaboration was born, a spokesman for the trades linked to the territory. A textile work created using the 16th Century masters' traditional high heddle technique, mixing together yarns of different colours and shades, in the same passage as if it were a single thread, creating unique shadings and nuances.
An artisanal manufacture, marked by slow process, where the attention given to preparing the loom, the gracefulness of manual gestures and the careful combination of colours and yarns give life to a product steeped in values of an ancient culture.
